When I saw the press release from Tesco for this new Ora Kitchen Towel, I was really excited. Yes, you read that right, I got excited about kitchen towel! I am a bit of a clean freak so I love trying new cleaning products and I just thought that the cone shaped design looked really interesting.
The lovely people at Tesco's press office very kindly sent me a sample of Ora to review and as you can see from my photos it looks a little different from a regular kitchen towel. For a start the sheets are not your average square or rectangle, they are round!
It doesn't have an inner tube either, the paper is stacked which means they can get the equivalent of 2 standard rolls in one pack. This reduces the number of lorries on the roads by 30% and saves over 20% packaging.
The stack contains around 100 sheets and I love the design because not only does it look pretty cool sat on the kitchen work top but it is also brilliant for clumsy people like me! I am always spilling things and in the panic to clean it up before my drink drips all over the carpet, I try to tear a sheet of a standard roll really quickly which either means I rip it, or I knock over the holder causing even more mess! With Ora's stacked sheets I can just quickly and easily grab a sheet with one hand and I'm good to go!
A standard stack of Ora Kitchen Towel is available exclusively at Tesco for £1.89. I have to say that I was rather impressed with that price. I am quite particular about the kitchen towels that I buy because I think if you purchase the cheap stuff you end up using twice as much, so I am happy to pay more for good quality stuff. I've tested Ora on some splillages already (I did tell you that I am clumsy) and I've used it for cleaning too. The quality is as good as the brand that I usually buy and I was suprised to learn that it is cheaper!
Verdict
No question that I will be purchasing Ora Kitchen Towel instead of my usual brand. This is why I love reviewing things, I may not have tried this product other wise and I think it's brilliant!
