Rekorderlig Winter Cider
I first tried Rekorderlig Winter Cider last year when my husband and I went to Bournemouth for the day.  It was November so it was freezing cold, raining and windy so we took shelter in a bar along the sea front.  I saw a sign for hot cider and thought it sounded interesting so I decided to give it a go to warm me up more than anything.  Being the classy bird that I am, I do like a nice cider but I am used to a nice cold glass on a Summer's day, it never occurred to me to try it hot.
Anyway I was delighted to see that Rekorderlig Winter Cider is back again this year and even better, they are serving it in my local.  Rekorderlig is a Swedish brand that has only been around since 1999 but seems to have increased in popularity as cider has become a more fashionable drink in recent years which is good for me as now people don't take the Mickey out of me ordering a pint!
Rekorderlig Winter Cider is a blend of apples infused with vanilla and cinnamon.  The combination of flavours is really nice, the amount of cinnamon was just right for me, not too strong but strong enough to add a bit of spice to the apple and vanilla added a sweetness.  In my local they serve it with a slice of orange and this definitely compliments the flavours and gives it a more festive feel.  This cider doesn't taste very "boozy" unlike a lot of apple ciders; it is very sweet and easy to drink and as it is warm it loses the fizz so you don't get that bloated feeling from the bubbles.
Verdict
Apparently Rekorderlig Winter Cider can also be served cold but I haven't tried it because I just love the idea of warm cider on a cold Winter evening.  Drinking this always makes me feel Christmassy!
