This Ritter Sport Caramel and Nuts was sent to me by Katherine over at Grocery Gems. I've had it a while but I have been savouring it because I knew that it was going to be good. I am a huge fan of Ritter Sport but I always have trouble find their more interesting bars, in fact all of the bars that I have reviewed were sent to me by Katherine! In my previous Ritter Sport review (Coconut Macaroon and White Chocolate Coconut), both bars scored full marks so obviously I had high hopes for this one.
This bar is milk chocolate with a butter caramel cream, chopped hazelnuts and crispy rice. I think a lot of the Ritter bars contain crispy rice, certainly all of the bars that I have tried recently. That's just fine with me because I really enjoy the texture that it adds.
The filling is lovely, it's smooth and creamy and the little bits of hazelnuts add a nice flavor and crunch. This crunch is a great contrast against the lightness of the buttery caramel. This bar is very similar to Dairy Milk Nutty Caramel.
Verdict
Another excellent bar from Ritter Sport. I loved the combo of hazelnut and caramel and you know you are always going to get decent chocolate from Ritter. Thank you again to Katherine for sending it me and if you haven't already, be sure to check out her awesome blog Grocery Gems.
