My husband spotted these Milk Chocolate Covered Pretzels in Sainsbury's the other day at the bargain price of £1 for a 115g bag. They are on offer at the moment down from £1.49 and contain 284 calories per half a bag.
Earlier in the year I reviewed Flipz White Fudge Pretzels but wasn't overly impressed. I think I have said before that I am not always a huge fan of sweet and salty combinations, I think that it is too easy to get it wrong and overpower the saltiness. Because of this I haven't really tried that many of the sweet and salty snacks that seem very popular the moment.
I am also not too bothered about pretzels (unless they are the big doughy kind which I love) as to me they are just too salty and a bit boring. These pretzels however have a nice thick layer of milk chocolate on them so I thought that perhaps I might enjoy them.
The layer of milk chocolate was nice and thick and this meant that the initial taste was nice and sweet. Once the chocolate melts in your mouth, you then get the crunch of the pretzel, followed by only a slight saltiness and I did enjoy the combination.
Verdict
I actually found myself going back for more of these Sainsbury's Milk Chocolate Covered Pretzels. My husband loved them and apparently he thinks that they are better than Cadbury's version Choc Full of Pretzels and cheaper too!
