I absolutely love coffee these days and I was mega chuffed to be sent some Starbucks coffee to review as I've always wanted to try and recreate their delicious coffee at home. Caffe Verona is described as "well-balanced and rich with a dark cocoa texture".
Mr Review Addict is chief coffee maker in our household so I got him to make us up a pot using acafetiere. It smelt amazing; there is nothing quite like the smell of freshly made coffee! I like my coffee strong and black with caramel syrup rather than sugar or sweetener and of course I also have a favorite mug.
You can purchase this coffee online from the Starbucks shop for £4.50 and I imagine that it's available in store too.
The reason that I love Starbucks is that their coffee seems sweeter than a lot of other coffee shops and this Caffe Verona has that familiar sweetness to it. The caramel syrup obviously highlights this and to be honest this cup was just as good as the caramel Americanos that I find myself buying in Starbucks on a ridiculously regular basis! It has a lovely strong roasted flavor with no bitterness whatsoever and we both found it smooth to drink. It would go perfectly with one of Starbucks' Oats and Nutella Cookies!
VerdictOne of Mr Review Addict's Caramel Americanos made with this Starbucks Caffee Verona was like having a Starbucks in my own home! It won't stop me nipping out for coffee still but I have a feeling that I will be drinking a lot more coffee at home!
