Taywell Ice Creams - Dulce De Leche
Regular readers will know that I am a big ice cream fan so when Taywell Ice Creams asked me if I would like to review their ice cream I was delighted! Last week a nice man called Tim turned up in one of Taywell's freezer vans with 6 tubs of their ice cream for me to try. I've now got quite a lot of ice cream to get through so with this in mind this week will be Taywell Ice Creams week on The Review Addict!
Taywell is based in Kent AKA the Garden of England (and also where I was born). It is owned by Alastair Jessel who created the company in 2006 as a way to utilise surplus fruit from his farm. Taywell have won a lot of awards for their ice creams and have even featured on an episode of The Apprentice!
Taywell ice creams and sorbets do not contain any artificial additives, colours, stabilisers or bulking agents and most of their recipes are gluten free. They also offer a staggering amount of flavours, there is around 140 ice creams and sorbets to choose from.

The first flavor I am reviewing is Dulce De Leche. According to the tub, this is a special edition flavor and it came in a bright yellow tub/box which is little bit like one of those Chinese take-out boxes that they have in the US. I am not sure if this is how all of their ice cream comes but I love this packaging because it makes the ice cream much easier to get out than if it came in a hard round tub.
The ice cream was a lovely golden color and smelt sweet and rich. It had a lovely texture as it was very smooth and soft, much a gelato. Dulce De Leche is a flavor that I love which is why I went straight in and tried this one first. I've tried a lot of ice creams in my 29 years and Dulce De Leche can be a bit hit and miss, for me the flavours need to be really strong and so often it is disappointing. Not Taywell's version though; I have to say this ice cream tasted awesome! It was rich, very creamy and the caramel taste was deliciously strong as I had hoped.

Verdict A great start to Taywell Ice Creams week, both Mr Review Addict and I absolutely loved their Dulce De Leche ice cream and I am really looking forward to trying the rest of the flavours!
