REVIEW! Taywell Ice Creams - Raspberry Sorbet
Posted on the 04 April 2013 by Thereviewaddict @TheReviewAddictIt's day 4 of Taywell Ice Creams week and if you haven't had chance to catch up on the rest of this week's reviews, last week they very kindly delivered 6 tubs of ice cream for me to try. One of those tubs was actually not ice cream, it was this Raspberry Sorbet. The links to the rest of my Taywell Ice Creams reviews are at the bottom of this post.
Taywell's sorbets are made with fresh fruits from English fruit farms and like their ice creams they do not contain any artificial additives, colours, stabilisers or bulking agents. They are also ideal for anyone who has a gluten, egg, soya or dairy intolerance.
I have a bit of a confession to make...I don't think I have ever actually tried a sorbet before. It's just not something that I have ever been tempted by because I just had visions of a sorbet being very icy and a bit plain, a bit like a crushed ice lolly I suppose. Well I have obviously been a bit narrow-minded because this Raspberry Sorbet was nothing like that!
It smelt absolutely amazing, the raspberry aroma was gorgeous and I loved the bright pink color. The sorbet was easy to scoop and I was surprised at how soft it was. The texture was lovely and smooth and the raspberry flavor was just awesome! It was so fresh, refreshing and fruity...raspberry heaven!
Verdict
I never thought that I would get excited about a sorbet but I absolutely loved this Taywell Ice Creams Raspberry Sorbet! I started with just a small bowl full and I've actually been to the freezer twice more to top it up. If this is sorbet, then I've been converted!
You can follow Taywell Ice Creams on Twitter and they also have a Facebook Page. A list of Taywell stockists can be found here but more will be appearing in Berkshire, Oxford, Hants and Surrey later this month.
