Christmas is fast approaching and Tesco currently have some fantastic offers on their party food with most of it on offer for Buy 1 Get 1 Free until the 10th of December. Tesco very kindly sent me some vouchers so that I could try some of it. The Tesco party food is £3.00 per tray and the Finest party food is £4.00 per tray so with the BOGOF offer I got all of this lovely stuff for the grand total of £13!
Mr Review Addict and I took all the food over to his mom and dad's last night for a little buffet dinner. A big thank you to my lovely mother-in-law for cooking it all! The great thing about Tesco party food is that it all cooks at the same temperature so this makes it easy to heat lots of different dishes. It can also all be purchased and frozen so you can stock up now whilst it's on offer.

From the Tesco range we had:
18 piece Chinese Selection - This included 6 chicken wontons, 6 vegetable spring rolls and 6 prawn toasts. Each piece contains around 55 calories.
8 Mini Hot Dogs and Cheese Burgers - 4 of each and these are actually even easier to cook as they go in the microwave for 1 minute. They also come with sachets of tomato ketchup and mustard mayo and were around 90 calories each.
12 Mozzarella Sticks - Mozzeralla cheese coated in breadcrumbs and 65 calories each.
18 Piece Indian Selection - Contains 6 mini veg samosas, 6 mini onion bhajis and 6 vegetable pakoras. These are approx 55 calories per piece.
Breaded Garlic Mushrooms - Quarter of a pack contains 190 calories
12 Piece Mexican Selection - Includes 4 chicken chimichangas, 4 chicken tortilla baskets and 4 vegetable fajitas. Each piece is around 55 calories.

10 Coconut Prawns with Mango Salsa - Hand coated in a sweet crispy coconut crumb. 73 calories per piece.

I was surprised at how tasty the little burgers and hot dogs were to be honest considering they were from the microwave but they were both very nice. The burger was my favorite of the 2 and my mother in law really enjoyed the hot dog, she said that it had a lovely smokey taste to it. Personally I think that the sachets of sauce were un-necessary because most people have a bottle of ketchup in their house but I guess the idea is to include everything that you might need in the packet.
The Chinese and Indian selections are pretty standard party food but I don't think I have seen a Mexican selection before. I loved this idea as Mexican food is one of my favourites and the little chicken chimichangas were so cute and tasted great.
My father in law loved the prawns, he said the coating was excellent and the coconut flavor really came through. I think everyone else's favorite was the Finest Sundried Tomato and Cheese Swirls, the texture was just perfect and everyone went back for seconds of these.

VerdictAll this party food fed 5 of us with loads left over and even without the BOGOF it is all very reasonably priced. The Tesco Finest foods were definitely the tastiest but the regular Tesco party food was still very good. This review shows just a small number of options, there is so much to choose from in both ranges so there will certainly be something for everyone!REVIEW! Tesco Christmas Party FoodREVIEW!
