REVIEW! Tesco Finest Golden Fig Butterscotch and Cinnamon Yogurt
Posted on the 19 November 2013 by Thereviewaddict @TheReviewAddictYet another new Tesco Finest product! I got this Golden Fig Butterscotch and Cinnamon Yogurt the other day using some vouchers that were sent to me by Tesco so that I could sample some of the 400 odd new products that have recently been added to the Finest range.
The yogurt which is made by experts at a dairy in Somerset using milk from British farms and Channel Island whipping cream comes with a rich sauce made with butterscotch, cinnamon and golden fig. A 150g pot costs 75p and the pot contains 255 calories.
I have tried a couple of the Tesco Finest yogurts and I especially enjoyed the Lemon Curd flavor. I liked the sound of this new one because Fig is quite an unusual flavor and with the cinnamon I thought that it sounded quite festive.
It smelt primarily of cinnamon and the texture was thick and creamy but a bit lumpy from pieces of fig. The taste was very interesting as the yogurt was sweet from the butterscotch but then a little bit of a tang from the figs and a slight kick from the cinnamon. It was a good combination and it certainly did have a festive feel as I had hoped.
Verdict
Although I am usually a bit put off by lumpy yogurts, I am glad that I gave this one a try because it was really quite tasty and perfect for this time of year! Tesco Finest yogurts are beautifully indulgent and I have only just realised that there is a Tesco Finest Chocolate and Coconut flavor which I must find immediately! There are also some other very interesting flavours including Champagne Rhubarb and a new Mango and Green Tea flavor.
