REVIEW! Tesco Finest Hawaii Ka'u Fancy Coffee
Posted on the 06 November 2013 by Thereviewaddict @TheReviewAddictYet another new Tesco Finest product and this time it's Finest Hawaii Ka'u Fancy Coffee which was sent to me for reviewing along with many of the other products from the new Finest range that I have been trying this week.
This is a rare 100% Arabica coffee which is grown high up in Hawaii's mountains. It comes in a 114g resealable packet which costs £9.99. I have to admit that I thought that was a bit pricey but apparently it is processed in small batches and the Ka'u coffee beans are thought of as some of the best in the world. It did have a lovely roasted smell to it and also smelt quite strong, which is just how I like my coffee.
I made a cup using a cafetiere with one scoop of the gound coffee and I let it brew for a few minutes before using the plunger. I also added 1 sugar and I have to say I did really enjoy the coffee. The roasted flavours really came through and as the packet suggests, it had fruity and almost chocolatey notes to it.
Verdict I thought that Tesco Finest Hawaii Ka'u Fancy Coffee was lovely and clearly excellent quality but due to the price I see it more as a special treat rather than something that I would buy every week. I think that this coffee would make a fantastic gift for any coffee lover, in fact I could just see it in a hamper along with the Tesco Finest Red Onion, Whisky and Chilli Chutney that I reviewed the other day, and a box of Tesco Finest Rose Shortbread which I will be reviewing soon!
