Remember those lovely new Tesco chilled desserts that I told you about the other day? Well the lovely people at Tesco PR kindly sent me some vouchers so that I was able to review them, looks like I am going to be having lots of dessert this week...shame!
The first dessert that I am trying from the new range is Tesco Finest Salted Caramel and Macadamia Cheesecake Slices. This cheesecake is a baked cheesecake with chopped macadamia nuts and salted caramel. It has a digestive biscuit base and is topped with a salted caramel glaze and decorated with caramel curls. This pack of 2 slices costs £2.50 and it is 380 calories per slice.
The digestive base is sweet and crumby and tasted buttery. The cheesecake part was light in texture but the little pieces of macadamia added an interesting bit of crunch. The salted caramel within the cheesecake and the glaze on the top were both delicious and this dessert definitely satisfied my sweet tooth!
Verdict
Cheesecake is my favorite dessert and I usually go for chocolate versions or vanilla so this made a nice change. I really enjoyed the combination of the macadamia nuts and the salted caramel, they really complimented each other.
