The new range of Tesco Takeaway Pizzas looked fab so I was delighted to be sent vouchers from Tesco so that I was able to review them. Well the are obviously going down well as my local store always seem to be running low on stock but I did manage to pick up this Pepperoni Stuffed Crust Pizza from the range.
It cost £3.75 but you can get 2 for £6 which is much cheaper than ordering one in. It cooks from chilled in around 13 minutes and half of the pizza contains 734 calories.
It came in a takeaway style box which I thought was pretty cool and it also came with a garlic dip. It looked pretty darn tasty when I took it out of the oven, especially that lovely golden crust.
The cheese stuffed crust was very good, it wasn't like some of those horrible congealed cheese stuffed crusts that you get with some supermarket pizzas and even some takeaways; there was just the right amount of cheese with just the right amount of stringy-ness. There was plenty of topping on this pizza, and generous amount of pepperoni.
There are actually 10 different pizzas in the range. Sadly they didn't have 2 particular varieties that I really wanted to try but I definitely wanted to mention the Limited Edition New Yorker Hot Dog Crust and the Bacon Cheese Burger Pizzas (Images provide by Tesco). I will certainly keep looking for these and hope to review them at some point.
VerdictMr Review Addict and I both really enjoyed the pizza from the Tesco Takeaway range. It felt more indulgent than your standard supermarket pizza but we weren't left with that feeling of self loathing that you get after eating a huge takeaway pizza. Don't get me wrong, there are times when only an ordered in pizza will do, but this Tesco one was a great alternative and I will most certainly buy it again...in fact I already have!
