The other day I was sent some samples from The Cracker Drinks Co. to review. The Cracker Drinks Co. specialises in juice and juice drinks which contain no artificial colours, preservatives, or flavours. They are not from concentrate and offer the quality of chilled with the convenience of ambient.
I was sent 2 rather festive sounding flavours: Apple, Strawberry & Cranberry and Blueberry & Blackberry.
Apple, Strawberry and Cranberry is a really stunning pinkish red color and contains 113 calories per 250ml serving. It smelt deliciously sweet with strawberry being the most obvious scent. This was reflected in the taste with the strawberry really coming through and then a bit of tang from the apple and cranberry.
Blueberry and Blackberry contains 105 calories per 250ml serving and I found that the blueberry was the more dominant flavor in taste and smell. It was tangy but then the blackberry added some sweetness to the after taste.
The cartons explain that the juices have been blended in such a way that each of the individual flavours can be experienced and I would say that actually they have got this spot on. I was expecting generic fruity flavours but I really could taste the individual fruits.
The Cracker Drinks Co. also supports the Rainbow Trust. They donate 1% of their annual net profits to this charity which supports famines who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. Personally I think any charitable efforts should be commended!
VerdictMy favorite was the Apple, Strawberry & Cranberry, this is just the sort of juice that I enjoy, sweet and tangy at the same time, but I imagine that either drink would make a fantastic mixer for some festive cocktails. The Cracker Juice Co. range of juices and juice drinks are available in all major supermarkets across the UK at £1.50 - £1.59 RRP per 1 liter.
