REVIEW! Turtles
I picked this bar up from Walgreens whilst I was in Orlando but I first heard of it on the Choc It Out YouTube channel.  The cute turtle shaped chocolate sounded right up my street so thought I would give it a try.
It appears that there is a bit of complicated history surrounding Turtles.  If I have understood this correctly, Turtles was originally made by developed by Johnson's Candy Company which then because DeMets.  At some point Nestle owned the brand but from my understanding it was sold back to DeMets.  In Canada, Turtles is still sold under the Nestle brand but in America it is sold under DeMets.
REVIEW! Turtles
Having been purchased in the US my Turtles bar carries the DeMets name and contains 3 pieces but it appears there are 4 and 2 piece versions available, these can be purchased from Cyber Candy.
Anyway, Turtles is pecans and caramel in milk chocolate and as I mentioned before it is usually in the shape of a turtle.  As you can see from the picture mine are not very turtle shaped but this was brought back to the UK in my suitcase so may well have been bashed about a bit.
I love the fact that Turtles is 3 separate pieces, it makes it easier to just eat a bit and save some for later.   At 260 calories for the whole packet it works out about 87 calories per piece.
REVIEW! Turtles
I was expecting smooth more runny caramel but it was quite a thick, chewy consistency but tasted nice, especially with the crunchy nuttiness of the pecans.  Sadly the chocolate is what lets the Turtles down, it didn't seem like the best quality and seemed a little powdery in texture.
Verdict
The Turtles was just OK so it has received an average rating from me.  The consistency was a little weird and the chocolate was not to my taste.
