Summer Break

Summer Break
A week ago today, I was finishing-up my summer final and looking forward to thirty-days off before I returned to school for my fall semester.
I expected to plan a week vacation with my hubby, catch-up with friends, work on my documentary and photography, and of course, rest this summer.
I instead started out by making a long list of to-do's, jumping-in on work responsibilities, and restarting life-in-general stuff that I had put on hold for months.
Today, I can finally say I catched-up with 80% of what I need to do before I return to school, and have started doing a few fun things in between the busyness that this summer has become.
As for vacation, I kinda planned this whole summer school thing wrong.
I had a small window of time in June where my hubby and I could get away for a week - turns out, that it was the week I started summer school. (insert sad face)
For someone that is used to going away three to four times a year, being in one place for an entire year is making me antsy.
So the solution is this: we are taking smaller trips, extended weekends, and making the best out of traveling to places that we can get to in a few hours by car, or couple of hours by plane and take Princess Maya with us.
Or, as a dear friend told me, "I live where people vacation," so its time that I really go out and rediscover the places that ya'll come to L.A. to see.
To start, I went to the Hammer Museum this week. The museum is located literally walked distance from where I live...and this was the first time I went. Which just goes to show how big and how much there is to do in Los Angeles.
Hope your summer is going wonderfully well, I can't wait to share what I end-up doing during my summer break
