I know some of you may have been to Bohol or may be familiar with the place already. We all know that it's one of the best places here in the Philippines where tourists sought to explore. Just before the month of November ended, my family and I visited Bohol the second time around. The first time we went there was when I was still, I think, around 6 or 7 years old because of my aunt's wedding. We were there for the wedding and nothing else. Now we finally had the chance to tour around popular tourist destinations in the area, including the famous Chocolate Hills, Little Baguio, Floating Restaurant, Hinagdanan Cave, etc.
We rode a ferry headed to Bohol from Cebu at around 6 in the morning and got there 3 hours later. After that, I'm afraid I can't provide useful details during our actual tour and getting around the tourist spots since my dad has a friend who's a van driver who lives there and pretty much handled all of our travelling.
We got to the Chocolate Hills sighting around noon time and fortunately, the clouds were very kind to cover up the sun that's why we were not really soaked into the UV light. The bad news is, there were tons of people. The moment we got on top of location, people started to populate and it was kinda hard to take photos because they were everywhere.
Now here's my favorite part! Little Baguio. I don't know but, there's something in these trees that tingles me. They're really enchanting and very beautiful. A little backstory... It was really a major struggle taking pictures in this area. Number one reason was that there were vehicles coming every now and then. It's a road, what did I expect?! Haha! And there were also people having the time of their lives taking photos as well. But it was worth the risk dodging the vehicles. Look at how beautiful it is!
Believe me, we had a bunch of photos during this stop and most of them are horrible. These are already the good ones! I separated some of my solo shots for my outfit post, though. Hee!
Next stop, the Floating Restaurant. The name says it all, actually. It's a floating restaurant! The boat travels along Loboc river, one of the cleanest rivers in the country. The Floating Restaurant is also known as The Loboc River Dinner Cruise which starts by the Loay Bridge where you can choose from a variety of river cruising vessels. It usually runs for an hour or so back and forth.
Price is only Php 280.00 per head (Inclusive of buffet meal, toll fee and boat rental fee).
Each cruise has a musician. He sings while everybody is dining and having fun. He also speaks English well so that the foreigners can understand.
Loboc Bohol is the home of the famous Loboc Children’s Choir. Upon arrival in this area where the children were waiting, they sang and performed a song for us. It was really fun! Some of the tourists even joined them.
And oh yes, I really like this photo. I look like I'm about to grab a gun from my pocket. Pretty badass. Haha!
We also stopped by the famous Blood Compact site or Sandugo between the Spanish explorer Miguel López de Legazpi and Datu Sikatuna the chieftain of Bohol.
We got our short visit (because there were tons of people and it's making the cave temperature rise) at Hinagdanan Cave. Each person has to pay Php 20 to be able to enter the cave. The cave is illuminated by natural light going through the holes from the top. Note that the surface of the cave is a bit slippery so it is advised that you wear durable footwear, always watch your steps and hold on to the railings provided. You can also see the majestic stalagmites above. The most beautiful thing you can found inside the cave is the underground lake. As per research, the temperature in the lake is about 25 °C. Nonetheless, an extra Php 100 is required for you to be able to experience the pleasure of swimming in this lake. The surface of the water seems to be blue to greenish because of limestones located at the bottom.
We arrived too early in Bohol and the check in time in Dumaluan Beach Resort, where we reserved an Executive Family room for approximately Php 4,500 only, is still on 2:00 pm. So we decided to just tour around the Bohol first and then rest in the resort, afterwards. We got there at around 3:00 pm already and their accommodating staff weren't that accommodating at all which really made me disappointed. They were too slow and didn't even greet or smile at us. Nonetheless, the resort was great and so was the food and live acoustic band during dinner.
The room was good for 4 persons (capacity of 6) with breakfast for 4 as well. Since there were 6 of us, we paid additional Php 400.00 per night inclusive of mattress and breakfast for each of the 2 extra persons.
Dumaluan Beach Resort is a beach-front resort with fine white sand. There were a lot of people on the beach but it also stretches out pretty far so there's still plenty of room for everyone!
I'll be forever thankful to the self-timer, now we have a complete family picture together!
It's too bad that I had to go back to Cebu ahead because of some appointments that I had to tend to which is why I'm not present in these couple of family photos. But nonetheless, I still had a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying some quality time with my family.
P.S. - I had quite a looot of photos and videos that were supposed to have been uploaded on my Snapchat but... they all got lost into the void because I totally forgot that once you close the app without uploading your snaps (didn't have an internet connection at the time), ALL OF IT GETS WIPED OUT FROM THE FACE OF THE EARTH. So yeah, I literally cried that night in our hotel room realizing my mistake. I even had plans of making a Vlog out of them. :'( </3 But anyway, life's uncertain and we learn from our mistakes!
