Thursdays are truck day at the station. That means inbetween calls we either detail the truck, or in the case of Ladder 7, we pick a specific thing to work on according to a set schedule and work on that. Today's job: greasing the ladder. It's not bad at all when the weather is as nice as its been. Step 1: Fully extend the ladder. Step 2: wash it down with soap and water to get all the old grime off it. Step 3: wipe it down and apply new grease. Step 4: exercise the ladder, retracting and extending it a few times. Step 5: look towards the heavens and say, "Is it to your liking, Father?". Follow that simple process with a few of your firefighting buddies and you, my friend, have just greased the ladder on your bad ass truck.
Got a workout in, ate some delicious chow, made some calls all throughout the day, and now ready for a good night. Hopefully the citizens of this city cooperate.
