I was born into an athletic family. My father excelled in track and field, soccer and even bicycling in his later years. My siblings were all stars in every sport they joined, whether football, baseball, volleyball and even swimming.
Then there was me.
I was never athletic, and I'm definitely not graceful. "Clumsy" is a word that is widely used to describe my ill attempts at running, swimming and any sort of organized sport.
I had literally given-up on sports, athletics in general, until I discovered yoga.
Yoga was my first step in entering a world that was, until then, foreign to me. Day in, and day out, I was inspired, driven and motivated to be part of a world where a room full of strangers encouraged me to do my best.
That was 15 years ago.
Fast forward to now.
With everyone's busy schedule, including my own, encouragement and even connecting with strangers in a yoga studio, let alone a gym or bike path, seems to happen less often.
As much as we motivate ourselves, there is nothing like the friendly encouragement another woman can have in our life.
Until now.
Under Armour, the leading performance brand, unveiled it's new "What's Beautiful" digital experience and competition. The "What's Beautiful" campaign is a community and a competition that will redefine who the female athlete is - US!
By joining the "What's Beautiful" digital experience, you will receive motivation from hundreds, possibly thousands of women, that are going through the same thing you are right now: Working towards a healthier version of ourselves.
After nine weeks, Under Armour will nominate ten finalists based on the strength, drive and determination showcased in their stories and original submissions to be featured in the "What's Beautiful" homepage and mobile app. Three winners will be selected at the end of the campaign!
The winners will be awarded a one-year "sponsorship" deal with Under Armour, transforming their lives with access to special events, training with UA celebrity trainers, gear for one year, nutrionist consultation and support, plus being included in the Under Armour women's marketing efforts!
