Howard's BBQ is perfection
As I woke up Wednesday morning there was a stillness outside that was welcoming. It had rained hard, atleast for awhile, in the middle of the night as I was falling asleep hours before. I've loved those nights where it rains really hard ever since I was a kid. Not sure if Guinness likes it. It's so foreign to him only because it hardly ever happens. Still, he just chilled and listened to the sounds of rain against the windows and roof and hours later we woke up to a nice, lazy morning. My refrigerator is full thanks to my last trip to HEB, so the strawberry banana breakfast smoothie i had been craving but didn't have the ingredients for (mainly strawberries and bananas) finally hit the spot. I showered and got ready for a quick business appointment at 1, then drove over to a friend's house to pick up something I had been wanting for awhile.

It holds 8 wine bottles and even has the notches at the bottom to hold 8 wine glasses. Thank you Dave Behave for this fine piece of woodwork that I had been wanting to make myself months ago but never got around to. Not bad for $25. This would go for $75 at World Market easily.
I think my television has been on NFL Network for 4 days straight. Sweet Jesus it's about to be football season! Tomorrow night, the Thursday night season opener, is finally just hours away. I'm always surprised by just how much the NFL season and fantasy football get me turned on excited. Even knowing the Cowboys will be 5-11 can't bring me down. [Note to self: link to this post at the end of the season and look like a psychic mastermind].
