The first person to introduce me to wines was my mother and it was just that typical cheap wine found in most grocery stores but I liked it though, nonetheless. Then I tried other kinds of wines down to the most alcoholic ones that I ever tasted and sweet white wines are my favorite! As we all know, wine or vinum in Latin, is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented grapes. Grapes are fermented naturally which means they have no added sugars, acids, enzymes, water, or other nutrients. That's why wines are not only a great companion to food but also are a great way to celebrate a day's success. Plus, wines is good for the heart and they help us to relax and reduce stress.
Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino is now celebrating Wine Fest, a free wine tasting at the Gourmet Walk where plenty of wine selections are available for both the red and white ones. Each and everyone can enjoy this by joining our free wine tasting for selected variants. There are also selections that you can buy by the bottle to fully experience its lush and full bodied flavor. The Wine Festival is participated by the following: Philippine Wine Merchants, Ralph's Wine, Masterchef Republic, Emperador Distillers, and Titania Wine Cellars.
What complimented the wines during the night were Ostrich Salpicao and Crocodile Fingers. Obviously, they are ostrich and crocodile meat and it was my first time tasting both. I never thought ostrich would taste like beef while the crocodile meat has this fish fillet texture and it tasted like chicken. FYI, the ostrich in this dish came from the first ostrich farm in the Philippines which is located in Cagayan de Oro.
This. This got to be my favorite among the wines I tasted during the fest. As I've mentioned above, I like sweet white wines the most and Barefoot Moscato didn't disappoint me. And the effect takes a while to kick in so while I was indulging it little by little, I realized that I was already getting drunk. I mean, tipsy, perhaps!
